Anne Winkles own education is what
inspired her to start teaching. She began
working in the education department
of the George Street Playhouse under the
direction of Ted Sodd and was
offered an assistant teaching position in the
summer months of 2000. There
she worked with 11-15 year olds and handled her
own classes three days a
week. From there she took a position as a team
member on an interactive
program called the Diva Project which was designed
for young girls ages 12-15
at the Paul Robeson School in New Brunswick, NJ
and focuses on hands on
exercises and group discussion promoting self-worth
and honesty in a
theatrics style forum. Anne also worked as Associate
Director and teacher for
the Pocket Players Theater Institute in Westport,
CT for the 2000-2001
seasons and now has been working privately with adult
non-actors to better
improve public speaking, overall confidence and a sense
of ease in the business and professional
world.
Since arriving to London in 2006 Anne has begun
coaching actors privatly for the purpose of honing their confidence
and performance in the regime of american Dialects particularly: Standard
American, Southern American and everyones favorite...NYC Accent. Anne's approach
to dialects as an actress herself is to always start with the character first
find the breath and tempo and then begin to work in the sounds.
